Prepare to assist pharmacists with correctly filling prescriptions, as well as assisting with daily pharmacy operations
Learn brand/generic drug information and uses, along with computer data entry, inventory control, and billing
Prepare to take the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam (PTCE) and the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) exam

Pharmacy Technician students must be able to
Read, comprehend, and follow textbooks and materials
Accurately perform math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages)
Use good written and oral communication skills
Work independently and in teams
Operate a computer to research topics incorporating critical thinking to complete assignments on a daily basis
Follow and apply safety and confidentiality guidelines and aseptic/sterile techniques in medication preparations
